This is a rather nice example of a silvered copper alloy follis of Constantine I, dating from around AD314. The reverse Shows Sol standing and has the mint mark for London (PLN).
Interestingly, the reverse would have appeal to both Christians and non-Christians alike as the sun (sol) is worshipped by the ancients and by a syncretic process, it may be seen as being linked to Christ.
The condition of the coin is remarkably good with an undamaged bronze patina with the evidence of silvering showing very faintly, to the obverse.
