A clipped or worn Roman nummus of Constantine I (306-337 AD), probably dating to 325-326 AD. Obv. Portrait of Constantine I facing right; CONSTAN-TINUS AUG. Rev. Gateway with wide open doors, four turrets, star above(?); VIRTU-S AUGG. Reece Period 16; mint mark probably Arles ([AR] horizontal crescent RL). The coin has been reused, possibly worn, with evidence of a circular drilled hole at the top, slightly off-centre. Cf. RIC VII, p265, No. 291.
