A copper alloy nummus (AE3) of Constantine I (AD 306-337), dating to AD 327 (Reece Period 16), VIRTVS AVGG, Camp gate with four turrets, open doors and star above. RIC VII, p. 268. cf. no. 314. The obverse appears to be pearl-diademed, rather than laureate.

An apparently new variety of a Roman copper alloy nummus of Constantine I, (AD 306-37), dating to AD 324-5 (Reece Period 16), Reverse: PROVIDENTIAE AVGG, Camp-Gate with 4 turrets (no star above?), Mint of Arles, T*AR. RIC VII, 264var The PROVIDENTIAE AVGG camp gate types at Arles are only recorded with two turrets; however the VIRTVS AVGG types have four, so it seems that the die-engraver got confused between the two. Dimensions: diameter 17.77mm; weight 2.06g This object is part of a much larger collection that was found over twenty-five years of fieldwalking over the same site.

A roman copper alloy AE4 of Constantine I (AD 306 - 337), dating to the period AD 330-335. Reece Period 17. GLORIA EXERCITVS reverse type. Probable rosette-diademed, draped and cuirassed bust right, with two soldiers holding spears and shields with two standards between them, dots on banners. The coin is part black encrusted, obliterating much of the design. Mintmark probably //CONS (Arles).
