""In January 1957 a hoard of nearly 2,500 antoniniani was uncovered by ploughing at Woolstencroft Farm, Agden, three miles west of Altrincham. They had been concealed in a jar, the lower half of which, containing the coins, had survived; the upper half had been destroyed, presumably by earlier ploughing. The ploughman, Mr. S. Froehling, reported the discovery to the farmer, Mr. J. Booth.
Mr J.R. Rimmer, Curator of Warrington Museum, visited the site and excavated the remains of the container..

Copper alloy radiate of Carausius (AD 286-93) (Reece Period 14), possibly (IOVI S?)[TATORI?], Jupiter standing right with [thunderbolt] and vertical sceptre. Mint unclear, S [ ] // [?]. , 287-293 AD. RIC V, pt. 2, c.f.no.815 for type. This type is only recorded for unmarked coins (RIC 815), but because of poor preservation another better specimen is required to determine legend and mint for certain. This coin is included in Sam Moorhead's corpus for RIC.
