A flat square lead object of 7.3g (c. 1/4 oz). The upper surface has a moulded capital letter A, with serifs, set within a broad rim. There are no other marks. Possibly a 1/4oz trade weight - the style of the letter suggests a later 16th century or later date.

A Post-Medieval copper alloy cup weight, probably for 2 oz avoirdupois. It is circular in plan and trapezoidal in vertical section.  It measures 35.4 mm in diameter at the top and 29 mm at the base. The wall thickness is c.8.5 mm and the height is 25 mm. A Post Medieval cast lead alloy dress or curtain weight dating c 1700-1800. The weight is circular and flat with a central circular recess on one face measuring 7.1mm in diameter with two adjacent circular perforations. The object has a dark grey patina. Measurements: diameter: 19.3mm; thickness: 3.90mm and weight: 10.08g.  Similar objects are published in Bailey (2004) p. 83 as lead weights to hold down ladies skirts or curtains and dating to the 18th century.

A complete copper alloy trade weight, one of a set that would have stacked. It is circular with a raised rim, and the weight would suggest that it is 1/2 ounce. Inside are the stamps of a laver or coffee pot, the inspection mark of the Worshipful Company of Founders, who controlled the lawful making of weights in London and for three miles around (Withers and Withers 2011, page 78). Possibly Late Saxon lead weight, conical with hollow underside and X-shaped rib on the upper part. Some small irregular indentations near the base are probably deliberate. In rather abraded condition. Height 12mm. Diameter 14mm. The height of the hollow on the underide 10mm. Weight 8.52g, perhaps for one third of a weight unit of 26.6g (8.86g) postulated for Viking Dublin (Kruse 1992, 86). No. 6 on annotated map in file.

An unidentified lead alloy object, probably a weight dating to the late medieval or early post medieval period (c.AD1400-1750. The object is a quarter of an elipsoid (Quarter of an elongated sphere) giving it a shield shaped plan. One radius is slightly longer (13.4mm) than the other (8.8mm). There is a design on the curved surface formed by a series of raised ridges. There is a central raised ridge from which four pairs of ribs radiate and connect with an outer shield motif. Lead weight, made from offcut. A fragment of cast lead of trapezoid section, with cut and chatter marks on all sides; patinated. The mass might approach that of one lighter Viking-Age Ora/Ore comprising six sub-units of 4.07gms to enable use as a weight at that time, though the correspondence with that value is less exact than would normally be deemed significant by this reporter. Other finds from the vicinity are of mainly Roman date, though with later material present. The object is crudely decorated on one side with what appears to be a figure 8 covered with apparent random stab or peck marks.  The reverse of the object is plain.  There is some post-depositional damage on part of the upper edge of the object, which has a powdery white patina.
