An incomplete cast iron trade weight with copper alloy insertion (or outer layer) of early medieval date, c. 900-1100. This object is an oblate spheroid (flat topped sphere) trade weight with probable Viking association. Weights like this were possibly imported alongside Islamic systems of measurement and appear in excavation contexts in Scandinavia and in England. An iron object, possibly a weight, of Post Medieval to modern date, AD 1800 - 1950. It is rectangular with a chamfered edge so the top face is smaller than the lower face.  There are circular marks on both faces, but it is difficult to know if these are intentional or a product of corrosion. Dimensions: length 20.5mm, width 12.6mm, height 3.7mm, weight 5.48g. The object is similar to a domino, but is smaller and does not appear to have a central division line. It could be a weight to add mass such as those to adjust a clock.

Iron possible weight. Cast heater shield-shaped weight, with slight loss of fabric to the flaking of corrosion at the arises or angles, otherwise in good condition. The mass may suggest this to have represented one half of an averdepois pound, though the manufacture of such an object in iron seems perversely difficult. An iron core in copper-alloy casing Early Medieval weight, dating to AD 850-1066. It is spherical with two opposite flat faces. One face has a circular sunken line decorated with a series of punched annulets; the opposite flat face might have had the same decoration, but the iron corrosion has burts through the copper-alloy coating and covers large part of the surface. Iron probable weight. A straight-sided cast iron block with one straight and one curved end. A round hole of diameter 14.8mm appears set centrally, towards the curved end. A slot of length and width c.9mm abuts the hole and confers the appearance of a key hole. The object was at first taken to be a padlock, but is solid with no provision for a lock mechanism. It may be that the configuration of the hole was intended to permit a locking bar to pass through the hole, which would seem apt for the attachment of weights to agricultural machinery. The object is in essence a heavy round globular ball with a protrusion at one end which may have been an integral circular-section suspension loop with a collar. The base is slightly flattened. The object has a seam running around it from top to bottom. The patina of the object is dark black with a silvery sheen. There are large patches of reddish-brown corrosion. A very worn and heavily restored late early-medieval barrel-shaped weight. It is biconical in form with flattened top and bottom surfaces.
