The object is broadly bi-conical with a slightly flattened top and almost pointed base The surface of the metal is pitted and marked and is generally of a cream and pale brown colouring with rust staining where the iron shows. Diameter: 33.25 mm; Height: 25.49 mm; Weight: 92.11 g.

A complete cast lead -alloy spindle whorl or weight, of unknown date. This is plano-convex in shape, with a moulded circular aperture slightly off-centre measuring c. 7.20mm in diameter.  The surface of the spindle whorl is covered entirely in a matte dark grey patina, with white specks especially on the flat bottom. The whorl has a maximum diameter of 28.37mm and of height 11.78mm and weighs 44.91 grams. The shape conforms to Walton Rogers form A1. A complete sub-spherical lead alloy weight of Roman to medieval date, c. AD 43-1300. A cylindrical aperture which measures 5 mm in diameter passes through the centre of the object; this is now filled with compacted soil. There is no visible casting seam on the weight's surface. The metal has a pale cream coloured patina. Its weight (27.07 g) corresponds roughly to an unica or Roman ounce (27.4 g), and so indicates its possible use as a trade weight. A lead suspension weight of probably Roman date, about AD 43 - 410. It is sub-triangular in plan, trapezoid in cross-section and is perforated with a square hole at the narrow end. The front face is worn. Measurements are; length 90.3mm, width 38.7mm, thickness 13.6mm and weight 300g. The mass is close to the official mass of 1 Roman libra (327.5g), suggesting a Roman date, though the form is not typical for the Roman period. A later date cannot be ruled out.
