A lead plano-convex spindle whorl. The whorl is decorated with several lines of circular dots in relief - one both sides around the central perforation. It has been noted that the weight of a spindle whorl is demonstrative of the thickness of yarn produced, with lighter spindle whorls (3 - 5 grams) being used for spinning cotton and the heavier ones (30 - 35 grams) for spinning wool (Margeson 1993, page 184). This example weighs 30.16 grams, so it seems likely that it would have been used to spin a lighter material.

Post Medieval cast lead alloy disc, possibly a weight. The upper surface has a central sheild surrounded by three concentric rings; the inner ring is comprised of raised circular dots as opposed to a solid line. The reverse is plain and undecorated. The disc has a diameter of 17.14mm, is 4.15mm thick and weighs 7.02 grams.

Medieval weight, cast in lead alloy. The weight is circular with eight raised triangular segments radiating out from a central raised pellet. Each of the triangular segments has a central raised pellet. The reverse is plain and undecorated. There is damage to the edge of the weight and the surface is worn and abraided.

A small discoidal cast lead object: probably a weight of post-medieval date. The base of the weight is slightly concave while the upper surface features a raised rim. Within the rim there appears to be moulded decoration within a low border. Unfortunately the detail is difficult to discern due to corrosion. It is probable that such a unifacially decorated object in lead would have acted as a small weight.

Lead alloy (with some copper/bronze) weight or perhaps a gaming piece. It is circular in plan and has a rounded top. The decoration has been moulded and is on the upper (rounded) face only. The decoration is in the form of a stylised sun with rays emanating from a central circle. The bottom of the weight is smooth. Weights like this can date from the Iron Age period onwards and are very hard to date precisely. This weight probably dates to the Medieval period.
