Lead weight. Cast cylindrical weight with one flat side and one which bears a partial rim around an irregular indentation; patinated. The indentation might be an incompletely defined rim; or it may show where a small flat object was formerly embedded. The current mass could suggest this object to have represented twelve Viking Age units of 4.07gms, as used for silver bullion transactions, and equating to two ora/ore, the contemporary version of an ounce. Lead weight. Cast ball with a tapered central hole of diameter 3.6mm-1.5mm diameter; abraded. The metal retains a grey tint, which may suggest a relatively recent date. The small hole could permit a horsehair thread to be threaded through the object, so a function as a line weight would appear possible. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1700-1900 Diameter: 18.3mm, Weight: 29.33gms
