Perforated stone spindle whorl or net weight of unknown date – probably Mesolithic – Modern (6500 BC – 1800 AD). The stone used to make the artefact is a micaceous sandstone which is a mid brown grey colour. The weight is irregular being broadly sub-circular in plan and D shaped in cross section. The central hole is drilled from both ends, is broadly circular in shaped and waisted (egg-timer) in cross section. The maximum diameter of the hole measures 8.4mm. Sedimentary, sandstone, loom weight of unknown date, probably post Roman 800 – 1500 AD. The loom weight is broadly sub rectangular in both plan and profile. It is formed from a relatively hard sandstone. A small broadly rectangular hole has been punched in the upper edge, and it is suggested that this hole allowed the weight to be suspended. Similar weights are associated with loom, although it is possible that this represents a broken (and possibly reused) sandstone roof tile. A probable weight made of chipped stone of the Roman to Modern periods. The stone is discoid with rounds sides and a central perforation. On one fact, a slight inscribed line cross the perforation, perhaps indicating a resting place for a brace or pin related to the shaft or rope that passed through the perforation. The stone is a loose sandstone and relatively light in weight. If not a stone weight, the object could possibly be a spindle whorld.

A complete whetstone or weight with suspension loop. The form of such objects is rather conservative and chronologically unchanging, making them difficult to date precisely. However, the present artefact, with its riveted metal suspension loop, seems likely to fall within the postmedieval period. It is rectangular in profile and section, and is relatively thick (13.5mm). Carved loom or net weight of unknown date (probably Bronze Age – Post Medieval 2150 BC – 1650 AD). The weight is sub circular in plan and sub-rectangular in cross section. It has an off-centre perforated hole (diameter: 9.5mm). The weight has been carved from Oolitic limestone. It measures 54.5mm length, 56.1mm width, is 16.7mm thick, and weighs 62.44 grams.
