The top is decorated with an 8 pointed star with raised points within a raised square. The points of the star project beyond the edges and corners of the square to the edge of the weight. The points run down the sides of the weight as raised lines. Between each point and on each point of the star is a raised dot around the outside of the square, totalling 16 dots. The mass of the weight is 56.37g which is a apoximately 2 ounces.

At the six o'clock position is a is a crowned G. This is the only mark on the weight. The mass is 27.53, just less than the ounce brought in in 1826.
