A complete probable lead weight of uncertain date. The object comprises a spherical body with an integral cast loop at its apex. The weight is unusual as it has a spherical body and is not likely to be shot due to the cast loop. A similar example on the database is CORN-348081, however, this example has a flat base with a cavity, and the apex is pointed. Dimensions: Length 23.1mm, Diameter 18.8mm, Weight 41.40g.

Roughly cast decorated lead alloy, possible paper weight of the post-medieval to modern period (1700-1900). The object is relatively flat with a moulded decoration on the face. The overall design appears to be an abstract image of a basket of fruit or bouquet of flowers. The design features a rounded base that is cinched at the waist by a band and curves up into an opened ruffled design. From this base streams six possible stems that terminate at a convexed band. Above the band are a series of pellets of various sizes that may represent rounded fruit or flower heads. These rounded …

A folded lead-alloy strip of uncertain date. The strip has a rectangular section and has been folded several times along its length. Crimping marks are visible on the outside surface. The metal has a darkish patina, more metallic in places where the surface has been worn. Rolled and folded lead strips have been used as Roman curse tablets. However, compared to others in the database (e.g. YORKM-E10746, NLM-92F452) this piece is smaller and has been deliberately more tightly folded. This suggests that it is probably some kind of lead weight or ingot.

A cast copper alloy Post-medieval trader's weight from the reign of Charles I (1625-1649) or Charles II (1660-1685). The weight is cup-shaped (a disc with a raised rim) and has three symbols stamped into the face; a crowned C at 11 o'clock (C for Charles) which may suggest the weight was checked during the reign of Charles I (1625-1649) or Charles II (1660-1685), a sword at 1 o'clock (for St Paul's and the City of London), and a ewer at 5 o'clock (for the London Founder's Company who had a Royal charter to verify trade weights). When made the mass may have been refined through f…
