Post medieval fishing net weights; fired clay, sub-oval objects with piercing at one end suggesting that they were probably intended as fishing net weights or similar. The location of the find (within 100m of the bank of the River Trent) adds evidence to this interpretation. The weights are of a fine, bright orange-red fabric, similar to terracotta.
