Post Medieval lead alloy weight, probably a clack weight from a water pump. The iron nails were probably used to attach the weight to the leather flap valve that sealed the pump when not being used. Probably dates to between c1500 and c1920 AD, more likely earlier in the period due to the purity of the lead alloy and the type of nails used.
The diameter is 46mm, and the weight 218g.
Clack weights are part of a crude non-return valve from a simple water pump. When water was drawn up the pipe into the box with the spout, the clack lifted to let the water in and then fell back …

Roman to Post Medieval bell shaped lead or lead alloy suspended weight. At the apex of the 'bell' is the staining from the remains of the original trapped iron suspension loop. The sides below the apex have been chamfered and there is evidence, in the form of shallow depressions, that an attempt to create a perforation for a new suspension point was started. Dates to between c43 and c1750 AD.
The height is 38mm, diameter is 23mm and the weight is 94.3g.

Lead weight of medieval or post-medieval date (c. 1300 - 1700 AD). The weight has been formed by pressing a coin into the surface of a circular disc of lead. Unfortunately, the impression is shallow and the surface of the object is worn, which means that the coin cannot be identified with any certainty. The size and indication of gothic lettering suggests that the coin will have been of late medieval to post-medieval date. The object has a white patina. It is 35.07mm in diameter and 8.06mm in thickness. The diameter of the coin is 28.15mm. The object weighs 61.24g.
