Object type: WEIGHT
Broad period: IRON AGE
County: Northamptonshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
A worn curved stone fragment, probably from a loomweight. Dark grey granite fabric with flecks of orange iron corrosion product. Worn upper and lower surfaces but discernible central circular perforation and original bun form. A late Iron Age or Roman date is suggested for this artefact given the contemporary material found in the vicinity.
