The mass might approach that of one lighter Viking-Age Ora/Ore comprising six sub-units of 4.07gms to enable use as a weight at that time, though the correspondence with that value is less exact than would normally be deemed significant by this reporter. Other finds from the vicinity are of mainly Roman date, though with later material present. An cast lead weight probably dating from the medieval period c.AD 1150-1450. The object is shield-shaped in form with a flat top and curved sides that reach a blunt point at the bottom. Both sides are flat, with one side decorated with a raised septfoil with six recessed triangles in a circle with their points facing inwards. A complete lead-alloy weight or gaming piece of uncertain date. The object is circular with a flat top and base and a central perforation running through it. All surfaces appear undecorated and are worn.  The metal has a light white/brown patina and is in fair condition. The object is 22.7mm in diameter, 8.6mm thick and weighs 24.1g. An incomplete lead steelyard weight dating to the Roman period, c. AD 43-410. The object is broadly bi-conical with a slightly flattened top and almost pointed base The surface of the metal is pitted and marked and is generally of a cream and pale brown colouring with rust staining where the iron shows. The trade weight is circular in shape, and rectangular in cross section. The obverse has a raised rim, with a circular engraved border as decoration. Two more concentric engraved circles are present on the obverse. Within the central circle, a  stamp is present, consisting of a Crowned GR.
