Medieval-Post Medieval cast lead possible weight, c.AD 1200-1700.
Cast cylindrical object with what appears to resemble a thickened foot ring and with an open top or end; patinated and lightly worn.
The most usual interpretation of such objects is as weights for a fishing line. The thickened edge is, however, not a usual or necessary feature of such weights. It might suggest the adaptation of a different class of object, such as, for example, a powder flask cap.
