Cast lead alloy circular disc weight, probably medieval, ?12th or 13th century. The upper surface has raised decoration of an octofoil (or floriated cross?) with alternating pointed and rounded petals, and mis-formed central circular pellet. On the reverse are a central circular dimple, a wide shallow linear groove across two-thirds of the diameter, a narrow linear groove crossing this, and three closely spaced short linear scratches (with another possible scratch to the left) towards the edge (possibly denoting the weight?). A Post Medieval lead disc weight. The weight is circular in plan with two flat faces. The upper face bears the stamp of a rose, possibly a tudor rose; below the rose are two small heart-shaped stamps. The lower face is plain. The weight weighs 55.3g (1.95 ounces), so was likely a two ounce weight.

A lead plano-convex spindle whorl. The whorl is nicely made, with a different decoration on each side. One side is decorated with several lines criss-crossing each other, resembling Norse runes (although they are not runes!). A lead plano-convex spindle whorl. The whorl is crudely made and no decoration is visible. It has been noted that the weight of a spindle whorl is demonstrative of the thickness of yarn produced, with lighter spindle whorls (3 - 5 grams) being used for spinning cotton and the heavier ones (30 - 35 grams) for spinning wool (Margeson 1993, page 184). This example weighs 21.7 grams, so it seems likely that it would have been used to spin a lighter material.

Lead alloy (with some copper/bronze) weight or perhaps a gaming piece. It is circular in plan and has a rounded top. The decoration has been moulded and is on the upper (rounded) face only. The decoration is in the form of a stylised sun with rays emanating from a central circle. The bottom of the weight is smooth. Weights like this can date from the Iron Age period onwards and are very hard to date precisely. This weight probably dates to the Medieval period.

On the front, in the lower half are the numbers 'IIII' which has most likely been cast or moulded in at the time of manufacture. The back has no decoration on but the surface is not smooth which could be due to use or poor casting. The edges are slightly raised and are irregular.

A flat and rectangular piece of lead which may be a weight. The object is 29.1mm long, 22.3mm wide and 3.7mm thick. It has a thick white patina which is chipped at the edges and it does not seem to be decorated or marked at all. It weighs 22.6g. Late Medieval lead pendant weight. It has an elongated shape with a pierced hole at the top of the weight by which it can be hung, the centre of the weight on both sides are enlarged . Known as a lentoid triangular-section weight with a hole at one end and was probably used of rindustrial purposes. The weight has a variety of uses being sinkers for fishing nets, form of plumb bob or sounding lead for use on ships.

A lead alloy perforated weight, probably a medieval fishing weight. The weight is 58.2mm long, 20.3mm wide and 17.7mm thick. It weighs 68.3g. It is square with concave sides in section and tapers at both ends. One end extends into a simple oval suspension loop. The weight is deeply patinated and is a creamy white colour. Lead weights are very imperfectly understood currently. It is hoped that by recording them as often as possible, a large body of data that can be studied will be built up.
