Three heavily abraded body sherds, probably of later Iron Age or Roman in date and possibly of Black Burnished ware (BB1) or a locally made coarseware. The sherds represent two or possibly three vessels. The fabric is dark reddish grey to black with abundant coarse sand inclusions. The large fragment (40.9mm x 30.6mm) is considerably coarser, with poorly sorted inclusions, and demonstrates a change in angle or slight carination. There is no decoration.

A rim sherd from a large post medieval whiteware (Surrey / Hampshire borderware) flanged bowl or dish. The rim is everted, with a square profile and ornamental notching around the outside edge at the top and bottom. The original rim diameter was around 400mm. A greenish lead or copper glaze appears to have been applied but hasn't vitrified, suggesting that the vessel was misfired and probably a kiln waster.

The fabric is oxidised red throughout, with abundant fine sandy inclusions and has patches of a dark red brown manganese glaze on the surface. The handle curves and tapers to a break and has a fluted exterior, with two ridges and three grooves.

A rim sherd from a small Roman flat rimmed jar, made from a coarse cream or yellow fabric, probably Portchester D ware, with abundant coarse sand, fine white mica and infrequent chalk inclusions. There is a decorative groove running around the exterior at the break in angle between the body and the neck. The original external rim diameter was around 180mm. Circa 4th century AD.

An incomplete copper alloy lid from a box or vessel, possibly a canister or pyxis of Roman date. The lid is conical and missing most of one side. From the apex projects a waisted terminal with a flat circular top. From one side of this terminal is incised a parallel pair of lines forming a decorative stripe, 4.7mm wide, with fainter transverse lines or striations within. There appears to be no other decoration. The apex of the terminal and the centre of the concave underside of the lid have dimples from lathe finishing.

The object consists of a sub-trapezoidal, three toed foot that is broadly rectangular in cross section with a worn break on the upper surface. Each toe is short and rounded; with bevelled surfaces between the toes; and the foot narrows toward the flat, worn edge at the heel. No decoration is apparent on the object. An incomplete post medieval copper alloy vessel leg dating c. AD 1700-1900.  The object is sub-triangular in plan, at the wider attachment end there is a worn break. A pot mend of uncertain Roman to Post-Medieval date c. AD 43-1900.  The mend is formed from two broadly flat but irregularly shaped (sub-oval) faces connected by a projecting stem that extends from the centre of each panels inner face.
