A copper alloy strap end of three piece construction, of Medieval date, about AD 1270 - 1400. The long, narrow, rectangular strap end is broken both plates are missing, leaving only the sheet spacer. At the closed end, the spacer has rounded shoulders and then a projecting collar, before a long narrow neck to the terminal which is a cross. Fragments of the outer plates survive on the cross. The object consists of two separate paired sheets of tongue-shaped metal fastened with a single rivet at each end. Both rivets are extant. The end to which the strap was attached is open, the rivet forming the only spacer. The object has a length of 32.77mm, a width of 7.60mm, and a maximum thickness, at the strap-attachment end, of 2.76mm; at the closed, rounded end the thickness is 1.29mm. It weighs 2.01g.

A copper alloy early Medieval strap end dating from about AD 850 - 1000. It is an example of Thomas' Class B type 5, an Anglo-Scandinavian type. The strap end has a ribbon interlace design terminating at the closed end with a very devolved animal head, and at the open end, a rectangle containing a very short palmette motif and the two copper alloy rivets which both survive. The attachment end also splits into a front and back plate to sandwich the strap. The metal has a grey red colour. The strap end is 56.3mm long, 17.35mm wide and 3.26mm thick. 12.37g.
