Two complete lead shots of post medieval date, probably c.AD 1700-1800. Both of the shots are essentially spherical, with one end projected out to a conical point and the other to a small, cylindrical projection. This gives the shots a "tear drop"- like appearance Each has six sub rectangular indents running a circumferential band. Both have a cream coloured patina. The shots weigh 10.24g & 10.16g so were likely intended to be fired from an 18th century pistol. Dimensions: Heights 15.8 / 15.9mm, Diameter 12.1 / 12.2mm, Weight 10.1/10.2g

A complete post medieval lead alloy shot probably from a flintlock military wall gun dating between 1700-1800 AD. The shot is sub-spherical, with a small flattened section possibly resulting from the inclusion of the shot in a multiple load. The shot has numerous linear divots and striations across its surface, possibly caused by gas erosion, an effect occurring at the instant of firing an unwadded projectile. No evidence of a casting sprue is readily apparent.  Dimensions: diameter: 24.55mm,  weight: 83.04g The shot is too large for a musket and the finder …

Oolitic Limestone stone shot. Pecked stone ball of a size apt to be fired by the smaller version of the Minion, which was one of the smaller guns mounted on wheeled carriages to support troops in the field. Stone shot was an early projectile derived from the similar balls made to be lobbed by catapult artillery. It would later be superseded by cast iron shot. Stone shot was used during the Wars of the Roses (c.1450-1489) along with other projectiles, and by the armies of Henry VIII (1509-1547) and Elizabeth I (1558-1603) – though the English ships which assailed the Great Spani…
