Neatly circular iron ring, 51.5mm in diameter. In cross-section it is circular, 8mm in diameter. It weighs 31.8g. The ring was found close to several early Anglo-Saxon objects and is likely also to be of that date. It may have been used as a suspension ring.

A Post Medieval copper alloy ring, c.AD 1600-1700. This is an annular ring, slightly squashed during deposition. The ring has a flat section with raised, rounded edges on the obverse. A complete Medieval to Post Medieval copper-alloy ring dating to the period circa AD 1200-1800. It is comprised of a circular loop. The frame is broadly rectangular sectioned with a bevelled edge on both faces of the frame. Ring such as these are common founds and difficult to date without secure archaeological contexts. They may have been part of horse-harness, or used for suspension of vessels, or as curtain-rings, and so on. The irregular frame is indicative of a Medieval date (Geake 2001: Rings) Diameter: 25mm; Width: 3.4mm; Thickness; 2mm; Weight: 2.89g.

The hoop has slightly faceted sides and the interior hoop is flat creating a sub-oval hexagonal cross section.The surface has dark green patina and is covered in filing marks. Dimensions: Diameter 27mm; thickness 4.2mm; weight 6.06g These were often cast in rows and it is notable by a distinctive flattened point which can be found on this particular object. These are common detector finds, but their function and dating are not well understood (Geake: Finds Recording Guide, p.54).
