A Post Medieval circular lead alloy lid for a storage jar or vessel, c.AD 1700-1800. This lid is circular in plan and has a pronounced rim with a finely delimited inner edge. The upper face of the lid sloped upwards to a central globular knop. This lid is heavily decorated with raised cast-in lines in the shape of a 8-petalled flower, with lines and pellets separating each petal. There is a waisted stalk expanded at its lower end with a skirt to engage a lid of some other material. Slightly bent edges on the obverse face; there is white-grey patina across the whole handle. A complete copper alloy lid or closure, probably modern, dating from about 1900 - 1980. This is a circular hollow screw cap or lid from a vessel such as a very small bottle or vial.  Externally, the face is decorated with a representation, in relief,  of a flower on a stalk with four leaves.  The edges adjacent the face are knurled.  the inside walls of the cap appear to be threaded.  The walls are deformed due to damage.  It measures 10.2mm in diameter, 4.8mm high and weighs 1.4g.

Copper alloy lid. Discoid lid with an internal strengthening insert at its flange and with six groups of drilled holes arranged to form the points of a six-pointed star on top. A collared ball handle is set centrally. This might be from a pomander to hold scented herbs which would be packed away with clothing in a linen press to ensure it smelled fresh when taken out for wear.
