Copper alloy possible mouthpiece from a wind instrument, as suggested by finder. Cast cylinder of internal diameter 9.5mm with one end narrowed and half stopped, as if to receive a reed. An oval plate is attached to the side of the cylinder at its open end. An alternative interpretation as a fragment of piping for water or gas supply, or from a barrel tap, might also be entertained. Suggested date: Modern, 1850-1950.
Length: 32mm, Diameter: 12.5mm, Thickness: 1.36mm, Weight: 10.53gms.
