Copper alloy finger ring. Cast penannular band, tapering to opposed points opposite the bezel, which comprises a moulded bar with five small pits for inset glass stones [lost]. A moulded V appears at each shoulder. Probably a ‘fairing’ or item of trinket jewellery. Copper alloy possible finger ring. Cast D-section band, slightly narrowed at one point which, if indeed a finger ring, would be opposite the bezel. The latter, and the rest of the band, is plain. Abraded. The wearing of finger rings was a men’s custom for the Romans, and this band would have to be for a youth or gracile individual if indeed worn on the finger. An incomplete cast copper alloy late Roman finger ring. This consists of the all-metal bezel, which is flat in profile and oval in plan, measuring c.12.5x9mm. The bezel has the remains of a motif of dots, arranged in a cross shape. A fragment of a copper alloy Roman finger ring, comprising a raised oval bezel, 8.2mm long and 3.3mm high, with a deep setting for a now lost stone or intaglio. The bezel rises from the line of the hoop which has a flat cross section and triangular shoulders which are waisted at the junction to the bezel and which taper into the hoop. The shoulders are decorated with transverse ridges. Cf. Guiraud's (1989) Type 3 (later 2nd to later 3rd century AD) or Henig's (2007, 13) Type VIII (3rd century AD).

The oval bezel measures 13.70 x 10.7mm. The bezel is decorated with incised decoration consisting of a crowned capital I flanked by palm fronds. They date from the 15th - early 16th century AD. The bezel is round with a sub-rectangular section with a recessed circular cell to the upper surface. The cell holds five circles of blue enamel in a cross formation. An extremely worn, incomplete, copper alloy finger ring of probable Roman date (c. AD 43-410). Most of the hoop is missing, and the object only consists of the bezel and a small section of the hoop. The bezel is lozenge shaped in plan and is decorated with the worn remains of a moulded ring and dot pattern inside of a central round recess with a raised, circumferential border on the outside. There are objects that have been recorded on the Portable Antiquities Scheme database that are potentially comparable, such as SF-344BD5.

A complete copper-alloy early Medieval (late Anglo-Saxon) finger ring. The penannular hoop is D-shaped with tapering ends which crossover and is D-shaped in cross-section. The ring widens gently to a centre which does not have a bezel. There is signs of corrosion and pitting on the patina.
