Complete gold finger ring. The ring takes the form of a simple band. The hoop of the ring is flat in section and is of equal width and thickness for its circumference. On the outer face of the hoop is an engraved inscription, now partial due to wear. It reads +PVR [?] VOSTR[E].........[S]ENS SV??[ST].......??[MARIA monogram ?] There are no traces of enamel. The hoop is now distorted. The external diameter of the hoop is 24.26mm lengthways and 2.65mm across the narrower diameter. The hoop is 2.42mm wide and 0.74mm thick. It weighs 1.18g.

A copper alloy finger ring which is probably post medieval. The ring hoop is D shaped in section and if formed from a strip of metal with decorative terminals bent into a circle with the ends over lapping, making the hoop double width at the bezel. The bezel is a separate piece of copper alloy fixed onto the two strands of the hoop. The bezel is a flat sub-triangular or heart shaped sheet of metal with a loop at the top of the heart. A copper alloy finger ring from the post medieval period. The hoop of the ring is broken, but none seems to be missing. The hoop is narrow at the back (2.1mm wide) but quickly widens to form a bezel which is shield shaped, with three lobes at the top and bottom of the shield, and concave sides. On either side of the shield is a single flower, perhaps a rose. The ring is corroded and worn. If there was any decoration on the shield, it is no longer visible. An incomplete cast copper signet finger ring of post-medieval date. The suviving part measures 23mm by 16.5mm by 2.1mm and weighs 2.1g. The ring has been cast in one piece with a flat oval bezel, which measures 14.3mm by 10.3mm. The shoulders of the loop expand into the bezel. Two faint initials have been incised onto the front of the bezel so that it can be used as a seal matrix. These are not easily distinguishable, but are possibly D and E.

A Post Medieval lead alloy finger ring probably for a child or a toy probably dating late 17th - 18th century. This finger ring has a circular-sectioned band that connects into the back of the bezel. The bezel is circular with an inset faceted, green glass. There is a beaded border around the edge of the bezel.
The style of the bezel and the stone is very similar to cuff links of this date for example: LON-CD52E3. Similar finger rings are also recorded on the database: BERK-4DF527; BERK-6DBD46; LON-D33DC6; SWYOR-C5CF04.

A complete and misshapen gold posy finger ring of early eighteenth century date. Length: 23.5mm, width: 12.0mm. Weight 1.27g. Treasure case no. 2007 T244 (disclaimed). The ring is inscribed on the inside of the D-section hoop "I cannot show the love I O". This is followed by a stamped maker's mark in a rectangular punch of the letters PE in Roman capitals. This inscription appears on a ring in the British Museum's collections. It is listed in Joan Evans "English Posies and Posy Rings" (1931). The maker's mark appears to be that of William Pearson, who registered as a smallworker in 1704.

The copper alloy is a dark reddish-brown colour. This ring date to the post-medieval period, circa 1600 – 1800.

A gold mourning ring dating from 1753. The ring's outside diameter is 21.6mm, the band's width is 3.3mm, its thickness is 2.1mm and it weighs 4.2g. The band is divided into five curvilinear scrolls, which contain a legend in gold, highlighted by black enamel. The legend reads WM BYSHOP OB:24 JULY.1753 AE:40, i.e. the ring commemorates a William Byshop who died on 24th July 1753, aged 40. The parish registers for Milborne Port record that a William Byshop married a Sara Hallet on 23rd October 1739 (Hugh Vincent, pers. comm.). Gold posy ring from the late 16th to early 17th centuries.
Treasure find- 2007-T156. The British Museum curator report- 'Small gold finger ring, slightly out of shape. Foliate design on the external surface and inscribed inside + DON + DAMI, followed by a sprig. Very slight traces of black enamel are visible on both the inner and outer faces.'
Discussion: The style of the capital letter inscription compares well with other 16th and early 17th century rings in The British Museum's collection.
