Complete gold finger ring. The ring takes the form of a simple band. The hoop of the ring is flat in section and is of equal width and thickness for its circumference. On the outer face of the hoop is an engraved inscription, now partial due to wear. It reads +PVR [?] VOSTR[E].........[S]ENS SV??[ST].......??[MARIA monogram ?] There are no traces of enamel. The hoop is now distorted. The external diameter of the hoop is 24.26mm lengthways and 2.65mm across the narrower diameter. The hoop is 2.42mm wide and 0.74mm thick. It weighs 1.18g.

Treasure Number: 2006 T447. Post Medieval gold mourning ring dated to 1674. The band is simple, with a small engraving of a skull on the exterior. The interior is inscribed in lower case script: 'E : Kinsman obijt 28 Maij 74. o. y. en', with maker's mark GW in a rectangular shield. The hoop has an external diameter of 17.31mm, an internal diameter of 14.65mm, is 3.48mm wide, 1.11mm thick and weighs 2.51g. Complete silver ring. The ring takes the form of a plain D-sectioned band. To the inner surface is the inscription 'OBEY GOD'. A gold tinge to the inner surface suggests that the ring was once gilded. No traces of gilt survive to the outer surface. There are no traces of enamel to the inscription. 16th - 17th Century The hoop has an external diameter of 23.44mm, is 5.18mm wide and 1.66mm thick. The ring weighs 4.65g. A similar ring (with a different inscription) can be seen in the Treasure Annual Report 2003, number 263.

TREASURE CASE 2011 T255 Medieval Finger Ring A medieval finger-ring with a D-sectioned hoop. The outside of the hoop has cabled decoration which alternates with bands of beading enclosing areas engraved with flowers. The ring would originally have been enamelled, but no traces of enamel remain. It is distorted and has evidence of much wear. The finger-ring is gold and dates from the fifteenth century. A plain gold band with an inscription etched into the inside. A mourning ring. The inscription reads: R.F.29.9.97 Judy Rudoe of the British Museum explains: "Generally the omission of the first two letters of the year indicates a 17th-century date". The ring is complete, although it has suffered some post-depositional plough damage. It is D-shaped in section and was aproximately 23mm in diameter. The band is 3mm in width.

A Post-medieval gold finger ring. The ring is inscribed inside the band: 'In Christ and thee my comfort be' followed by the maker's mark 'WF' in a rectangular shield. The ring has been damaged and the shape distorted. Modern (early 19th century) gold finger ring with lozengeform bezel containing four circular recesses for missing stones. The underneath of the bezel is hollow. The shoulders have an openwork design shaped like a 'comma'. It is 18.46mm in diameter, the band is 2.11mm wide, 0.90mm thick, the bezel measures 11.18mm by 8.15mm and is 2.85mm thick. There are no hall marks on the ring.
