An incomplete lead or lead alloy finger ring probably Roman in date and therefore either a cheaper version of a precious metal/bronze finger ring or possibly a lead pattern used to design and as a template for other metal finger rings. Only the bezel and fragments of the shoulders of this finger ring survives. The bezel is hexagonal in shape and hollow measuring 16mm in length and 15mm in width. The shoulders are decorated with openwork holes, which seem to be in rows of four.

A misshapen worn lead hexagonal facetted or keeled finger-ring, probably of late Roman date, c.3rd-4th century. Description: The ring has a hexagonal band which is roughly sub-rectangular in cross-section. The already thick band expands into a rectangular bezel with a number of incised lines. These incised lines are likely attempts at iniitals or letters perhaps 'IVNI' a common latin abreviation for the name Junius. The ring is a cream colour with some light brown patches typical of patinated lead alloy. Dimensions:26mm high, 28mm wide, 10.5mm thick (at bezel, 7mm at thinnest).…

A cast lead finger ring of probable post-medieval date. The ring is slightly bent out of shape and is oval in plan with a projecting flat oval shaped bezel (9.53 mm long and 8.45 mm wide) and ten small projecting knops around the outer circumference. The bezel is plain but on more elaborate examples of such rings there are designs and letters. One side of the ring is flat whilst the other is rounded. The ten knops around the circumference of the ring suggest that it was a decade ring, used as a discreet way of assisting in the saying of the ten prayers that make up the Rosary in the C…
