Gold posy ring, inscribed 'remember mee'. There are traces of black enamel left in the inscription. It is a very charming piece being so small in size, but as it is otherwise plain and bears no assay marks, it is very difficult to date with any accuracy. There is certainly no evidence to date it pre-1700, and it is most likely to be 18th century. It does not therefore fall within the Treasure remit.

A cast copper alloy finger ring, dating to the post-medieval period. The hoop is decorated with a floral design which is repeated six times around the hoop and the remains of possibly a buckle (post-medieval single looped) of which only the strap bar and pin from the buckle now survive. The hoop section is flat and rectangular. Much of the original surface of the copper alloy has been removed; only small patches of a dark green patina survive. The rest of the surface is heavily pitted. No parallels for this ring could be found.

Inscribed gold finger ring with inlaid enamel panels and central semi-precious (possibly rock crystal) or glass stone setting. The ring dates to the late post-medieval or early modern period. It is inscribed with the date 1735 and is therefore not covered by either the Treasure Act 1996 or the Treasure Trove Laws as the ring is not more than 300 years old and that it cannot be proved to be buried with the intention of recovery. The finger ring is oval in plan and D shaped in cross section. The ring measures 22.8mm length and 21.5mm width, it is 3.4mm thick and weighs 3.73 grams. Th…

An undecorated gold finger ring, triangular in section and stamped internally with SH in a shield. I am greatful to Judy Rudoe for the following note: "As far as the shape is concerned, with no exterior decoration there is no evidence to dateit to more than 300 years old. As for the mark, the style of the letters and the shape of the shield is comparable to marks of the mid to late 18th. None of this suggests that it falls within the Treasure Act."
