Cast copper alloy Post Medieval finger ring, with inscription on inside. The finger ring is rounded with a D-sectioned hoop. It has decoration on the outside, which was probably cast in. It consists of symbols, such as a sunburst etc. The inscription is on the inside of the hoop and appears to read 'Colie llevell'. This could refer to a person, or a place, it is not clear. Finger rings such as this can be found in gold, silver and copper alloy in this period. They are used as posy rings and mourning rings, with inscriptions of names, or phrases.

The bezel of the ring is engraved with the letters IHS ( a Greek abbreviation for Jesus), a cross and three arrow shapes which represent the three nails in Jesus's hands and feet. The ring is decorated wth ten other knobs. Gold Post Medieval finger ring, uncertain date. A plain gold band, with a slightly raised central ridge on the outside. The ring has been squashed out of shape but originally but have been round. The band is thin, and flat on the inside. Judy Rudoe (British Museum) has seen an image of this ring and is happy that it is undiagnostic, so cannot be assigned a pre-1700 date. As such it does not constitute Treasure.

Copper alloy with gilding. Signet Ring. Cast ring with an oval bezel; the band tapers markedly at the shoulders of the ring so most of the band is narrow and of rounded section. The bezel motif is incised so as to produce a strongly defined relief impression, and depicts a naturalistic female bust coiffed left (on the impression) with puffed diaper-work sleeve tops, a necklace or neck-line and possibly - as the nipples are prominently rendered - bare-breasted. The bust is surrounded by a billeted border which recurs around the edge of the bezel. Gilding traces survive over all surfa…

A copper alloy coiled snake finger ring, dating from the Post-medieval to modern period. The ring is formed of a band around which run three concentric ridges, one along each external edge and one centrally; these ridges are intended to represent the snake's body. The snake's head forms the terminal from one of the outer ridges, and is designed so the head overlays the other ridges and appears to be eating its own tail, which is again formed from one of the concentric ridges. The eye of the snake's head is a circular recess, suggesting that a stone or glass insert once represented the eye.
