A cast gold-coloured finger ring with moulded flower and leaf decoration. The ring has been straightened by the finder. This ring appears to be base metal with no obvious traces of gilding and the decoration suggests a date in the 19th century.

Description: A metal finger ring, pale yellow in colour, of Post Medieval date. The ring is complete and is a shallow D shape is section. The hoop is 0.91mm thick and 3.73mm wide at the back flaring to 4.78mm wide at the shoulder. The bezel is rectangular and is no more than a widening of the hoop. It is 8mm wide and 9.5mm long. The bezel is decorated with a central incised star or asterisk. In each corner is a fan of three incised lines. The sides of the bezel are demarcated by a band of herringbone pattern incised lines. Post Medieval yellow metal or gold finger ring, There is no distinct bezel. The loop consists of two interlacing bands decorated with a stiff leaf foliage, probably acanthus, holding pellets in voids between the bands where the interlacing produces these. The pellets stand proud of the rest of the loop. The decoration is typical Rococo (post 1730s) but the twisted cable form appears earlier.
