A incomplete cast band of copper alloy. It is a rectangular band, with a flat profile. It has been bent into a square, although there is only three sides of the square present, and two of those are incomplete. One of the breaks seems to have worn, although the other could have happened more recently. There are sections of cross hatched decoration on each side of the square. It is possibly this is a finger ring, that has bent out of shape. Apart from the breaks it is in good condition, and has a dark green patina. It appears it to be post medieval. 22.64mm x 13.75mm x 1.34mm…

A complete cast copper alloy finger ring. It has a flat rectangular cross section, and the band is the same width all the way around. There is a pelleted border on both edges. Around the band at random locations are stamped decoration of a cross pattee. Some are partially stamped, some stamped over the border, and some on top of one another. It is unclear as to why these random crosses have been stamped onto the ring, and no comparisons can be made. The ring is in very good condition. It is likely this is post medieval due to the condition and the shape / cross-section of the band. …

An incomplete cast copper alloy finger ring. Part of the hoop and the bezel are present. The hoop is bent almost into a straight band. The hoop is circular in cross-section, widening towards the bezel. The bezel is square and flat. Gold posy ring. A plain exterior, inscribed inside: 'Liue in loue and feare the lord' with the initials C above W M, standing for a husband and wife or betrothed couple whose surname began with C. This ring bears a maker's mark WH, or possibly HM. It has not been possible to identify the maker's mark. This inscription, and also the fashion for placing the initials in a triangle, continued well into the 18th century. There is therefore not enough evidence to confirm that this ring is pre-1706 and as such falls outside the provisions of the Treasure Act 1996.

A small gold finger ring, set with a colourless stone, possibly a table cut diamond. The square setting has two pellets of blue enamel on either side face. The shoulders also have duck egg blue enamel running in two parellel grooves, these terminate in a trifolium leaf design. Similar examples are held in the British Museum collections, and these have been dated to the 17th century.

Gold finger ring, plain exterior, thin hoop considerably bent out of shape. Inside, an inscription in lower-case script: 'Not the value but my love', together with a maker's mark 'IC' with pellet below in a shield. The lettering has a number of 17th century features, but examples in the British Museum demonstrate that these features continue well into the 1730's. Several 'IC' maker's marks are recorded from the late 17th to early 18th century, but none are identical with the mark on this ring. An early 18th century date cannot therefore be ruled out.

Gold ring, badly scratched, dented and bent out of shape, dated 1679. The exterior apart forms an engraved skull, the interior inscribed in lower case: Prepare to follow WR (some letters unclear). There is also an illegible mark, possibly a maker's mark, in a rectangular shield. Note: This is a standard type of memorial ring of the 17th century. The inscription is usually 'Prepared be to follow me' as on two memorial rings for Charles I in the BM (Dalton 1362 and 1362), on Dalton 1283: 'Prepared be to follow me RO'., and in shortened form on a ring of the same date, Dalton 1468: 'Be…
