Post-medieval copper alloy finger ring comprised of a simple and rather flimsy hoop, 0.6mm thick and ranging from 2.4 to 5.4mm in width, without a bezel. The narrowest and widest parts have been left plain, but on the remainder there are two "confronted" sets of engraved decoration of short lines, now rather worn: a herringbone pattern of five pairs of oblique lines flanking a row of longitudinal line and on both side of the wider part a row of five longitudinal lines. There are faint signs of a butt-join at the narrowest part. Diameter 18.7mm. 17th - 18th century. Field WG5

Copper alloy Post Medieval finger ring. Band consists of a 0.5mm thin strip and tapers from 6mm wide at the bezel to 3mm opposite on the hoop. Chevron like decoration is just visible on the bezel but corrosion precludes proper resolution of this. Possible internal cartouche for a makers mark but again this cannot be resolved.
