Late Medieval to Post Medieval cast copper alloy finger ring. The hoop is slightly distorted, measuring 25.38mm across. It has a 'D' shaped cross section measuring 4.48mm wide and 2.21mm thick. The circular bezel is 10.74mm in diameter, 3.55mm thick and has the initial 'M' or possibly 'B' enclosed within a circle. The ring weighs 6.04 grams. The surface is pitted.

Roman cast copper alloy finger ring, incomplete; late 1st-2nd century. The back and one side of the hoop is missing; the remaining part of the hoop is bent outwards; it is circular-sectioned. The bezel is an expanded oval decorated with a relief moulded cross; the resulting four cells may once have contained enamel - there appears to be a tiny trace of red enamel within one of the cells. Length (distorted) 22.2mm, width of bezel 8.3mm, thickness of bezel 2.4mm, width of hoop 1.9mm, thickness of hoop 1.6mm, weight 1.41g. Daubney Group 3a (quarters) (unpub).

A complete hand made twisted copper wire finger ring of probable Modern date, circa AD1800-1900. The ring is in fair condition although it is slightly contorted probably due to movement in the plough soil. The ring is formed of two copper wires of equal size that have been tightly twisted. The ends have been soldered together. The ring has a light yellow/orange colour and a shiny surface. Tarnish is present in the grooves of the twists. The ring has a maximum external diameter of 19.21 and a thickness of 1.31mm. It weighs 0.6g.

A copper alloy ring formed from a length of circular sectioned wire twisted and knotted to form a hoop. The metal is a mid brown colour with very little patination. Although this form of ring was common in the early medieval / Viking period (9th and 10th centuries AD), this example is likely to be modern. The ring measures 25mm in length, 23mm in width. The knot is 16mm in width. The wire is 1.5mm thick and the ring weighs 1.8g.

A cast copper-alloy finger buckle ring of Post Medieval date (AD 1600-1800). The ring comprises a cast hoop with a pin and a circular buckle soldered onto the hoop, giving the appearance of a buckled belt. The cross-section of the ring hoop is a flattened 'D' shape. The interior and exterior surfaces of the ring are plain and undecorated. Deposition in the soil has resulted in a transverse fracture in the ring hoop adjacent to where the pin is attached. A Roman copper alloy finger ring of Guiraud's type 2c, with surviving intaglio, probably dating to c. AD 43-250. The hoop is undecorated and broadly D-shaped in form, with a flattened bezel and broad, slightly carinated shoulders. A Roman copper alloy finger ring dating from AD 43 - 300. The hoop is incomplete. It has a copper alloy niello setting acting as a bezel. The niello inlay is flush with the metal and is oval in plan. It is black or very dark brown. The hoop is oval in cross section and the shoulders taper away from the bezel, ending at worn breaks at the sides.
