?BA gold finger-ring. The ring is plain though decorated with a pinched midrib running around its circumference. The midrib is beaten flat in some places, and in others has formed a break. The surface is not smooth although the quality of the metal is very good. Diam 20mm. Thickness less than 0.5mm. Width of band 7-8mm. Weighs 2.08g. The ring was squashed when found, and was taken to a jeweller who is responsible for its present circular shape. The jeweller perfomed the acid test and determined the ring is 24ct.

Incomplete copper alloy finger-ring, 1mm in thickness and broken just beyond the shoulders where the hoop begins. The width of the hoop at this point is c.2mm. The bezel is ovoid with a 7mm circular area for the setting, now missing. Max width 8mm, estimated diameter 18mm. The finger-ring does not fit with a Henig type, so possibly later in date?

A finger ring examined under the Treasure Act by the British Museum. Surface metal analysis conducted at the British Museum indicated an approximate gold content for the ring of 50% and silver content of approximately 47%; it weighs 4.78 grams. The ring has a flat, ovoid bezel drawn out at the shoulders into two narrow, wiry strips tapering to points, which were originally wound together to form the hoop, but are now separated; diameter of bezel, 20 mm (max). The decoration of the bezel appears to have been cast (rather than punched as would be usual on Viking-period rings) and consis…

Possible copper alloy finger ring. The hoop has a sub-circular section and a swollen bump in one part. This could be a very crude representation of a snakes head but is more likely just the point at which the ring has been soldered together or finished off as there are no clear zoomorphic features. The ring weighs 1.1g and measures 21.4mm in diameter. The hoop measures approximately 1.8mm in thickness.

A band of copper-alloy bent out of shape, now forming a crude figure 8. The ring would presumably have been circular originally. It is very crude and it is unlikely that this would have been worn as a finger ring. It is 2 mm wide and 0.5 mm thick. It is more likely that this formed some form of an attachment ring. Such crude copper-alloy rings are very difficult to date.

A large cast copper alloy finger ring. The ring has a bevelled outer edge, which has a triangular section. The inner surface of the ring is flat and smooth, which would suggest that that this ring was suitable for a finger. The ring has a maximum thickness of 8.48mm and a minimum thickness of 4.65mm. The thicker edge of the ring appears to be the front. Other than the shape of the ring, it is undecorated. A number of incised lines are evident on the surface of the ring, but these appear to be random. The edges of the ring are all worn. The ring is in perfect condition. The metal has a …

Complete copper alloy finger ring of unknown date. The hoop is deformed and sub-oval rather than circular in shape, consequently, the external diameter cannot be accurately measured. However, the diameter would have been approximately 18mm. The width of the hoop varies slightly but is about 4.5mm. The thickness is about 0.5mm. Weight 1.66g. The hoop is decorated on the outer surface with regularly spaced curvilinear grooves. The ring is in fair condition and has a dark green patina with small areas of bright green corrosion deposits.

Small, crudely cast copper alloy (?) finger ring. Quite chunky in appearence. Oval bezel, raised markings visible to one side of the bezel, the rest of the ring being too damaged to ascertain whether these extend around the whole of the ring. There are also similar raised markings (letters?) visible on the inside surface.
