Finger ring dating to the late 19th or early 20th century, made from silver or another white metal with enamelled decoration. Although now incomplete and bent, it was clearly originally very small and quite flimsy. The hoop is missing a small part at its narrowest part, where it is 2.5mm wide and nor more than 0.8mm thick; the breaks appear fairly fresh. The hoop then flares gently in width to the shoulders, which expand and flatten to form a flat shield-shaped bezel. This is decorated with a shield of arms comprising three diagonal cells part-filled with decayed enamel, with an&…

A fragment of a Post Medieval-Modern silver finger ring, c.AD 1800-1950. This is a fragment of a silver finger ring, coprising half of the loop and half of the bezel. The bezel is decorated with openwork and some incised patterns, which suggests that there was a floral design used on this area. The breaks in this ring show that this was solid silver, not plated. Unfortunately, the hallmarks have been lost with the rest of the band.

Description: A complete gold finger ring, of 19th century date. The hoop of the ring has a twisted rope design around the entire diameter on its exterior face. The inside face of the hoop is plain, with no hallmarks. This design transitions directly into the bezel of the ring, which is a lozenge shape, into which a red stone is set into a quatrefoil opening. The bezel is a box design with chamfered edges. There is an apparent ‘lid’ for the box bezel, and it is possible that a keepsake is contained within the bezel itself. Dimensions:  Hoop diameter 22.28mm Weight: 5…

A Modern cast copper alloy finger ring, c.AD 1900-1990. This ring appears to be made from a length of copper pipe, sawn with uneven sides. A large, oval plate has been crudely attached to the ring, D-shaped in section, with a cameo of a bearded man facing left on the surface. Below this is a cirular setting, although any paste holding the setting in has been lost. The ring surface has been painted to appear gold.
