A copper alloy probable shoe or clog hasp, which would have been used with a similar clasp to secure a wooden shoe to the foot, dating from AD 1700 - 1900. It is a rectangular frame round a rectangular opening. Projecting from one long edge are two prongs, curving away from each other, forming an anchor like double hook. Measurements are; length 18.5mm, width 23.0mm, thickness 2.5mm and weight 3.22g. The opening on the hasp would have taken the hooked part of the clasp. A complete cast copper alloy dress fastener of post-medieval date (c. AD 1600-1800). The object is comprised of a sub-circular flat plate flanked by two sub-rectangular attachment lugs, one on either side. Each of these lugs is pierced by two small (<1mm diamter) circular holes. A belt guide of modern date, 1938 - 1945, off a military uniform. The object was found on a site of a former Prisoner of War camp. It is probably from a British Army uniform associated with a prison guard. The object is made out of a single strand (3.3 mm in diameter) of copper alloy wire, which is doubled, twisted, with two eyelets formed at the top. The fitment is sewn onto the uniform using the two eyelets, and is used to retain the position of the tunic belt. Length: 39.1mm, width: 20.6mm, thickness: 3.3mm. Weight 13.6gm.

An almost complete cast and tinned copper alloy eye from a hook and eye dress fastening dating from the Post-medieval period, c.1500-1700. The eye has a slightly convex body shaped like a narrow scallop shell with a rectangular eye, 8 mm by 3 mm, at one end flanked by two attachment loops, 3 mm in diameter, on either side of the eye and another broken loop at the other end of the shell. A copper alloy fastener or clasp, probably dating from the 16th century. It is hexafoil/sixfoil in shape with moulded decoration on the obverse and plain reverse. There are four sharp-pointed lugs on the reverse suggesting it was affixed to a textile or leather strap and possibly a secondary male section secured to the loop (Brian Read pers. comm.). The artefact consists of a flattish plate with curved sides, the rest being broken off to create a straight-ish back edge with a chunk missing from one side. Copper alloy tri-lobed clothes or leather fastener probably dating from the post-medieval period, that is the 16th or 17th century AD. The fastener is very worn with a much abraded surface on the inner and outer side of the body. The main body is convex with three loops on three sides and a broken hook on the fourth side. There are rivet holes in the three lobes, with two rivets still in place; one is missing. The obverse retains traces of gilding.
