A modern copper alloy 10 Reis coin from Brazil (under Portuguese rule), dating circa AD 1830 - 1835.  It is probable that this was a 20 Reis coin that has been counter-stamped with a 10 during the devaluation of the coinage in 1835. The obverse is heavily worn, only the counter-stamped number 10 is visible. The reverse shows boughs flanking crowned arms of Brazil. [IN HOC SIGN]O VINCES surrounding. Diameter 30 mm, thickness 0.75 mm and weight 3.56 g.

A replica of Cnut of Northumbria (c. 900 - 905). This coin was found in an area of known Viking Age re-enactments and was examined by the FLO and Dr John Naylor, and was found to be a modern reproduction on the following grounds, Although the coin has inscriptions and obverse/reverse designs which are faithful to the originals, there are  problems when you examine the coin closely: the combination of obverse  (EC-1ii) and reverse (CR-G) type seen on this coin isn't seen in the Cuerdale hoard (which is a large sample) the letter forms are quite scruffy…

A complete copper alloy Token or Gaming Piece of late Post-Medieval to Modern date (AD 1787-1900). The object is a copy of a George III (1760-1820) coin, although these types of tokens were produced into the 19th century making it of uncertain date. Obverse inscribed GEORGIVS DEI GRATIA REX, depicting bust right. Reverse inscribed[...] BRITANNIA, depicting Britannia seated.  Coin-like gaming pieces and tokens were made in imitation of George III coins and were normally made of brass. A modern replica of the early medieval 'sword' type pennies of Eric Bloodaxe (c.939-54) dating to c.AD952-4. Struck on a very round flan its weight is too high at 1.64g (the weight standard used for the original issues was 1.4g) and the quality of the die cutting is lower than on the original coins. Possibly related to the Ashmore Replicas of the 1970s and 1980s.  Measurements: diameter: 19.81mm; thickness: 1.25mm; weight: 1.59g. There are only two examples of this coin on the database: LANCUM-2C5698; and LANCUM-2BC4D7.
