A modern copper alloy 10 Reis coin from Brazil (under Portuguese rule), dating circa AD 1830 - 1835.  It is probable that this was a 20 Reis coin that has been counter-stamped with a 10 during the devaluation of the coinage in 1835. The obverse is heavily worn, only the counter-stamped number 10 is visible. The reverse shows boughs flanking crowned arms of Brazil. [IN HOC SIGN]O VINCES surrounding. Diameter 30 mm, thickness 0.75 mm and weight 3.56 g.

A replica of Cnut of Northumbria (c. 900 - 905). This coin was found in an area of known Viking Age re-enactments and was examined by the FLO and Dr John Naylor, and was found to be a modern reproduction on the following grounds, Although the coin has inscriptions and obverse/reverse designs which are faithful to the originals, there are  problems when you examine the coin closely: the combination of obverse  (EC-1ii) and reverse (CR-G) type seen on this coin isn't seen in the Cuerdale hoard (which is a large sample) the letter forms are quite scruffy…

Object is a complete, copper alloy half penny dating to 1942. The obverse features the bust of George VI (1936-1952) facing left, legend around. reading GEORGIVS VI D: G: BR: OMN: REX F :D :IND : IMP., The reverse features a sailing ship facing left, denomination above, HALF PENNY, and date in exergue 1942. The coin is in poor condition and much of the obverse is corroded. It has an orange and green patina with some pitting present. The coin weighs 3.9g and is 25.0mm in diameter.

A probable MODERN IMITATION of an Early-Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) silver penny of Ethelred II (978-1016). Bare headed type, 997-1003 (North 1994, 159, ref: 774). Moneyer Leofman, Canterbury mint. The coin's weight is too high for an early-medieval issue and its style and quality of execution is poor suggesting it is a modern imitation. A modified copper alloy coin; a penny of George V (AD 1910 - 1936) dating from AD 1912, Spink  number 4051. The coin has been modified by engraving a straw boater hat onto the king's head. It is otherwise an ordinary penny of the period, 30.7mm in diameter, 1.5mm thick and weighing 8.49g. The obverse carries the usual head of the king facing left and the legend  GEORGIVS V DEI GRA: BRITT: OMN: REX FID: DEF: IND: IMP: The reverse has Britannia, seated right above an exergue containing the date. A fragment of a modern copper alloy cash coin of the Chinese Jiaqing period dating to AD 1796 - 1820.  Unknown mint.  About a third of the coin remains with the first character surviving.  Measurements: diameter 20.37mm, weight 0.97g. The coin was issued by Emperor Jiaqing who ruled between AD 1796-1820. The coin has the remains of the characteristic square hole in its centre which could be used to string the coins. The reverse of the coin is worn with no surviving characters. Mint unknown.
