Silver penny of Edward I, possibly 3d/3g (mule the stops on the obverse are wedges rather than crescents, there is an early S on the obverse and a late S on the reverse), date is 1280-1282AD. Obverse has the crowed bust of the king facing with the legend EDWAR ANG […] HyB. Reverse has a long cross pattée, with 3 pellets in each quarter, dividing the legend CIVI/TAS/LON/ DON. A half of a possible cast lead counterfitters mould for a George III halfpenny (34mm x 37mm; thickness: 6mm; weight: 34.74g), probably dating between 1800-20 AD as '18[ ]' is just visible on the surface. The bust seems to be facing right with the remains of the inscription around the outer edge. The back of the possible mould is plain with no decroation. However, if this artefact is mould, the inscription especially is not deep enough. It seems that this artefact may have also been taken from a real coin to get an impression with the coin placed on the lead.

Roughly circular lead token, probably from the Post-Medieval period. Its diameter is 17mm. It is impressed yielding raised desigs. On the obverse are ?open shears whilst on the reverse is a simple cross. It is tempting to connect this token to an element of the cloth trade.

Contemporary cast lead/tin forgery of an antoninianus of Tacitus. It has has incomplete flan, so part of the legend on the obverse and any mint mark on the reverse are lost. The coin has a diameter of c.21mm and weighs 4.82g. When new and in bright condition this coin would probably have easily passed as the plated, copper alloy antoniniaus it was copying. Lead/ tin antoninianus contemporary cast forgery, 21mm in diameter. The flan is incomplete so part of the legend on obverse and any mint mark on the reverse are lost. Mint of prototype is Siscia. Weighs 4.82g. When new and in bright condition this coin would probably have passed easily as the plated, copper alloy antoninianus it was copying. Late 3rd century. Ref. RIC, cf 156.

A lead discoidal artefact, possibly a cast copy of a Roman nummus dating from AD 364 - 410. It is 14mm in diameter and 4mm thick. It weighs 5.29g. One face is flat and the other is slightly convex. Both are exceedingly worn. If it is a copy of a Roman coin, it is possibly imitating a nummus of the House of Valentinian, dating from AD 364-375, Gloria Romanorum reverse type (Reece Period 19).
