Silver half groat of Charles I, probabkly Group D Initial Mark Tun (1636-8).
This coin is interesting in that it is broken into 4 parts, when found the coin was broken into 3, two small quarters which were enclosed by the larger half being folded around them. On opening by the finder this larger part broke into two parts along an old crack. The act of folding has preserved the obverse face which has hardly any wear. The reverse on the folded part is heavily worn and pitted.
