Medieval Coin: Worn fragment of a struck or hammered silver penny probably of Henry III (1216-1272), possibly of Richard I (1189-1199) or John (1199-1216); short cross coinage (1180-1247). Only a fragment of the coin survives but it is evident that the moneyer was NICOLE or NICHOLE. Therefore the coin is one of the following mints and classes: London (7c-8); Canterbury (7c, 8b2-8b3); Kings Lynn (5b) or York (4-5). Unfortunately there is not enough information surviving to be more specific in the classification.

Medieval Coin: Struck or hammered silver voided long cross cut halfpenny of Henry III (AD. 1207-1272). the coin is probably of Class 3 (b or c) type dated c.1248-1250. The moneyer is Willem and the mint is either Canterbury or London. Coin Reference: North number 987-8. There is some uncertainty about the classification of this coin due to the arrangement of the obverse inscription with the hENRICVS being very far round to allow space for the III which is typical of class 3 coins but also no room for TERCI as is found on some other classes.
