Groat of Edward IV, Light Coinage 1464-1470, either North 1570-71 Class VII-VIII Initial Mark Crown / Sun, or North 1575 Class IX, Initial Mark Crown / Rose. There are a number of issues with this coin, in that the metal it is made from is not standard silver, instead it seems to be an amalgam or white metal alloy. This would indicate either it being a contemporary copy (which would explain the clipping around the edge) or a modern forgery or copy, probably produced on a relatively small scale for sale in museums and for modern collectors). A Post-Medieval silver plated forgery of a halfcrown of William III (1696-1702), dating to AD 1697-1701 copying a London issue. Very good forgery, silver plate on white metal, as Spink 3475. The reverse is partiuclarly worn and has crack in the silver plating.
