A copper-alloy barbarous radiate of Claudius II, dating to the period AD c. 275 - c. 285 (Reece period 14). CONSECRATIO (posthumous) reverse depicting a flaming altar. This is a high quality copy with well-executed details on both the obverse and reverse. The incorrect obverse legend - it reads 'IMP CLAVDIVS...' rather than the standard 'DIVO CLAVDIO' - identifies this as a copy. A few of the letters, particularly the 'M', are also poorly formed and the coin has an irregular flan, with the images struck slightly off-centre. Diameter: 16.9mm; thickness: 1.4mm; weight: 1.67g.
