Aluminium copy of a Charles I sixpence, copying the silver shillings minted at Pontefract during 1648 and 1649, the so-called 'siege' pieces. Sixpences were never minted at Pontefract, but were at Scarborough in 1644-5 and Newark in 1646. However, these latter types are square or diamond-shaped in profile, not disc-shaped as in this case. This copy seems to have been stamped and then cut out as a disc, as it has an edge on the reverse that stands slightly proud of the surface of the coin but no edge on the obverse.

A fake or counterfeit 8 reales piece of Phillip II of Spain (1556-1598), Mint of Lima. The coin has a flan of irregular thickness and the ridged edges suggest it has been cast. A modern white metal copy of a post-medieval halfgroat of Henry VIII (1509-1547), copying either the third or post-humous coinage.
There are several reasons to consider this a modern rather than contemporary forgery, probably dating from the Victorian period onwards. The flan of the coin is too round for a hammered coin of this period, and the edges of the coin a flat with sharp corners. The initial mark (cross with pellet centre) is not one known for Henry VIII and the inscriptions on both obverse and reverse contain inaccuracies- the end of obverse inscription reads [ ]RSh; the r…

A modern copy of an Early Medieval silver halfpenny of Edward the Elder (899-924), based upon Norrth 660 (floral penny) albeit seemingly intended to be a halfpenny version, of which no real examples are known. The style and flan of the coin are not consistent with an early-medieval piece- the flan is too smooth and the design/inscription too well defined and crisp.
