An extremely worn Roman copper alloy coin, probably a Dupondius of Faustina I dating to AD 141 (Reece period 7). Probably a [PIETAS AVG S C] reverse type depicting Pietas, veiled, draped, standing, left, dropping incense out of right hand over lighted candelabrum-altar, left and holding box in left. Mint of Rome. Cf. RIC III Antoninus Pius 1192Aa.

A Roman as of Antoninus Pius (AD 138-61), BRITANNIA COS.IIII reverse depicting Britannia seated left on rock, head propped on right hand, left hand on rock; to left round shield and possibly eagle-tipped sceptre, S C to either side. Mint of Rome, AD 154-155 (Reece period 7). RIC III, p. 142, no. 934. This is a Coin of British Association as listed by D. Walker in his study of the Sacred Spring at Bath, cf. Walker, 1988: pp. 294, 297-8, nos. 73-122, 136-288, pls. XXXV-VI.
