An extremely worn Roman copper alloy as of Marcus Aurelius (AD 161-180) as Caesar under Antoninus Pius, possibly dating to the period c. AD 154-155 (Reece period 7). T[R POT] (VIIII/XIIII) C[OS II], S C reverse type depicting Mars, naked, except for cloak behind him, advancing right, holding transverse spear in right hand and trophy over left shoulder in left. Mint of Rome. Cf. RIC III, nos. 1322 (AD 154-155) or 1354 (AD 159-160).
This is possibly a 'Coin of British Association' as listed by D. Walker in his report on the Sacred Springs at Bath (Walker, 1988: pp. 295, 299, nos. 3…

Mint of Rome. RIC III, p. 142, no. 934. This is one of the most common 'Coins of British Association' listed by David Walker in the report on the coins from the Sacred Spring at Bath (Walker, Coins from the Sacred Spring at Bath, pp. 294 & 297-8, nos. 73-122 & 136-288, pls. XXXV-VI).
