A Roman silver denarius of Augustus (27 BC - AD 14), dating to AD 13-14 (Reece Period 1), PONTIF MAXIM reverse type depicting Livia or Pax seated right. Mint of Lyon. RIC I, p.; 56, no. 220. RSC 223. This rare coin is the forerunner of the very common silver denarii of Tiberius with the same reverse (see RIC Tiberius no. 30).

An incomplete Roman Republican silver denarius of C Vibius C F Pansa, dating to 90 BC (Reece Period 1), Mint of Rome. Obverse: PANSA, Laureate head of Apollo right. Reverse; C VIBIVS C F, Minerva riding right in quadriga. Syndenham no. 684; RRC p. 347, no. 342/5b. Around 30% of the coin is missing due to an old break, although otherwise it is relatively well preserved.

A complete Roman republican silver denarius of Octavian, dating to exactly 42 BC (Reece Period 1). Mint of Rome. Obverse: CAESAR, III VIR R P C, Helmeted bust of Mars right. Reverse: SC, legionary eagle surmounted by trophy of arms and flanked by two standards. Syndenham no. 1320, RRC p. 513, no. 497/3. Parts of the coin are slightly obscured by a thin brownish crust of corrosion products, although otherwise the piece survives in good condition. This coin comes from a scarce issue with fewer that 30 obverse and fewer than 33 reverse dies recorded.

A complete silver legionary type denarius issued for the 7th Legion 'Claudia' under Mark Antony and dating to c. 32-31 BC (Reece Period 1). Travelling mint with Antony. Obverse: ANT AVG, III VIR R P C, Galley right. Reverse: LEG VII, legionary eagle between two standards. RRC p. 540, no. 544/20. A crescent-shaped bankers mark has been stamped into the obverse, and aside from some wear on this face the coin survives in reasonable condition.
