A worn Post-Medieval silver halfgroat of James I (AD 1603 - 1625), dating to 1604 - 7. Description: This is a halfgroat of the Second Coinage with an uncertain initial mark. Obverse: Crowned rose, the inscription reads I D G RO[SA S]INE SPINA. Reverse: Crowned thistle, the inscription reads TVEATVR VNITA DEV[S] Measurements: Diameter: 16.5 mm and Weight: 0.87 g. Discussion: See North (1997) No. 2104, with large crown on obverse.
