Broad period: POST MEDIEVAL

A post-medieval silver sixpence of William III (1694-1702). The coin is broken diametrically, with approximately 50% of the disc remaining. The edge of the break is relatively unabraded, possibly post-depositional and recent. Both surfaces of the coin are worn with a polished appearance. It is possible the coin has been adapted as a love token and the break represents the attempted fold line. Examples of William III sixpences adapted as love tokens on the database include: PUBLIC-42F8E9, LANCUM-AC6EFC, and PUBLIC-FE4161.
